Baby Carrier FAQ : Sizing, Safety, Care & Returns
Everything parents ask us before and after buying a Lakdun carrier. If your question is not here, email support@lakdun.com — we reply within 24 to 48 hours.
Sizing & Fit
What age and weight does a Lakdun baby carrier fit?
Newborn from 6.6 lbs (3 kg) up to around 44 lbs (20 kg), which covers roughly 0 to 36 months. Check the weight rating on the product page before you buy, and always follow the height and weight guidance for safe babywearing.
Will one carrier fit both parents?
Yes. The waistband adjusts up to 140 cm and the shoulder straps can be re-routed, so parents of different builds can share one carrier and swap in seconds without re-threading.
Hip Health & Safety
Is a Lakdun carrier hip-healthy?
Yes. The seat holds your baby's knees higher than the bottom with the thighs supported knee to knee — the M-position paediatric physiotherapists recommend for healthy hip development. Keep younger babies in an inward-facing carry.
Is it safe for a newborn?
Yes, with the back panel attached and your baby carried high and tight on your chest. Keep the chin off the chest, keep the face visible, and never carry a newborn while cooking, on stairs, or in a moving vehicle.
Are the fabrics and buckles tested?
All fabrics and hardware pass third-party safety testing, are BPA-free and phthalate-free, and the carrier is CPC certified to US CPSIA standards. Test reports are available on request.
Comfort, Fabric & Care
Is it breathable in hot weather?
Yes. The main panel uses airflow 3D mesh, which keeps air moving between you and your baby instead of trapping heat.
Can I machine wash the carrier?
Yes. Remove all buckles and fasteners, machine wash cold on a gentle cycle in a garment bag, then hang or lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry, bleach or iron.
Will the straps dig into my shoulders?
The wide padded shoulder straps and lumbar waist support spread your baby's weight across your hips and back instead of hanging it from your neck, which is what keeps longer carries comfortable.
Carrying Positions & Use
Which carrying positions are available?
Inward-facing front carry, outward-facing front carry, hip carry and back carry. The 6-in-1 hip seat carrier adds a cradle position and a stand-alone waist stool. Switch to outward-facing only once your baby has head and neck control.
Can I put it on by myself?
Yes. Every Lakdun carrier is designed for one-person operation, and most parents are comfortable after two or three tries. Step-by-step guide images are on each product page.
Does it fold small enough for travel?
Yes. The slings fold down to pocket size and the structured carriers pack into a diaper bag, which is why they work for flights, shopping trips and long walks.
Orders, Shipping & Returns
How long does delivery take?
Orders are dispatched within 1 to 3 business days. US delivery takes about 5 to 12 business days; Canada, the UK and Australia about 5 to 12 business days. Duties and taxes are prepaid, so customs will not contact you for payment.`
Do I pay customs or duties?
Lakdun covers import duties and taxes on every order, so the price you pay at checkout is the final amount — nothing extra on delivery.
What is your return policy?
You have 45 days from delivery to request a return. Items must be unworn or unused, with tags and original packaging. Sale items and gift cards are not returnable. Email support@lakdun.com to start a return; approved refunds are issued within 10 business days.
